Poseidon’s Daughter

I have always been drawn to the water,

Its stillness and depth, its rumbling and power,

As it rushes onto the shore.

It entices me to come, and when it embraces my whole being,

It touches my secret places, and rocks me in waves so glorious.

It comes to me so unexpectedly, mysterious and uncontrolled.

I do not see it flowing from the mountain,

Nor do I hear it rumbling underground,

But I come to draw it from a well where it is silent and clear.

There it fills me in the morning

And bathes my body and being

I have always been drawn to the water,

Or is the water drawn to me….
